New Year's Day 5k
Staged by the Long Beach
Road Runners, this is a 5k fun-run annual
tradition held on the
Long Beach Boardwalk (Riverside Blvd.) each New Year's Day. This
event attracts the hard-core Long Beach runner.
Bagels and coffee are typically donated for this
event. In prior years both Starbucks and The Bagel
Club donated food.
Immediately after the run some runners brave the
cold temperatures of the Atlantic for a quick dip!
Starts early morning at Riverside Blvd. Start the
year off on the right foot! (Also .... join the
Long Beach Polar Bear Club for it's annual dip on Superbowl Sunday.)

Snowflake Race
A 4 mile run held
mid-February starting and ending on the Long Beach
Boardwalk near Riverside Blvd. This competitive
run is held by the City of Long Beach Recreation
Dept. Awards are 5 deep in 5 year age group
categories. The temperature is usually cold and award
ceremony held indoors at the Lindel School (Lindel
Blvd. at the Bay).

Memorial Day Weekend Trophy Run - Late May
Hosted by the City of
Long Beach Recreation Dept. This event is a 10 mile run.
Typically it start at 8:00 AM. Prior to 2005 a 5k
was also offered on this day. The 10 mile
run travels down to the boardwalk and loops back
to the Recreation Center. The 5k run is now held
late June on the Boardwalk.
Trophies are usually 5 deep in 10 year age

Firecracker 4k
This 4k run (2.38 miles)
is held on the boardwalk by the City of Long
Beach. Age group awards and a great day at the
beach.
September
Lobsterfest 5k
Staged by the Long Beach
Road Runners, this 5k running event is clock-timed
with a terrific post-race party. Early registrants get
awarded a Lobsterfest Towel; everybody gets a full 1 pound lobster
dinner. Event Gold Level Sponsors: Jordan's
Lobster Farm and Starbucks Coffee. Great music and raffles after
the run. (Tries to be annual event -
dependent on price of lobster!)
 
Labor Day 5 Mile Run
A 5 mile run held Labor
Day starting and ending on the Long Beach
Boardwalk near Riverside Blvd. This competitive
run is held by the City of Long Beach Recreation
Dept. Awards are usually 3 deep in 5 year age
group categories. Temperature is usually mild and
award ceremony held outdoors at Riverside Blvd..
November
World Run Day - First Sunday in November
We will be part of the
virtual run this year called
World Run Day - Long Island. This event is
simple ... run any distance and donate to your
favorite charity. See

the past years.
